The challenge

The challenge was clear—one of Creps United’s existing color and register control systems ceased to operate and was also unable to be serviced according to the manufacturer. This led to increased start up and run waste, creating workaround procedures which was unacceptable to the pressmen and Creps management.

project goals

  • Reduce start up and running waste on 3 Sunday presses

our Approach

Our approach was innovative and clear. We introduced Creps United to DCOS out of Kinna, Sweden. The DCOS approach is best-in-class for quality automation equipment which includes density control, register control, cutoff control, plate-cocking and pressroom reporting. After performing their due diligence by calling DCOS users, Creps made the decision to consider replacing their quality automation on all 3 Sunday presses allowing their pressmen to be able to operate either Sunday press which would all be controlled the same way with respect to quality automation.
